AM + PM Bookends

In The Compound Effect, Darren Hardy tells us:

The key to becoming world-class in your endeavors is to build your performance around world-class routines. It can be difficult, even futile, to predict or control what will show up in the middle of your workday. But you can almost always control how your day starts and ends. I have routines for both.

I love that. We have the most control over our AM and PM, so let’s build some world-class habits for those time blocks. In the AM, I am typically creative before reactive. In the PM, I honor my stress and caffeine curfews so I can show up with energy the next day.

On the Heroic platform, Brian Johnson tells us:

“As we’ve discussed so many times, our day actually STARTS the night before—which is why our PM Bookends (featuring a solid shut-down complete and digital sunset rituals) are so important if we want to give ourselves the best shot of waking up feeling ready to rock… It’s pretty obvious that ‘Today’ will have a PM to it. It’s not quite so obvious that ‘Today’ ALSO had a PM yesterday.”

Masterpiece Day = PM + AM + PM. Remember your “PM counts twice,” and you have the most control over your AM and PM.

Do you have any AM or PM habits you can install or delete?
